Lwasa Accuses Dianah Nabatanzi of Playing a Role in His Arrest

Emmanuel Lwasa Kaweesi, a prominent Masaka-based businessman, has accused media personality Dianah Nabatanzi of playing a part in his recent arrest for unpaid debts. Lwasa was detained last week for owing 20 million Ugandan shillings but was later granted bail.

The peculiar debt issue stemmed from Lwasa\’s previous sponsorship of a TV show hosted by his former partner, Nabatanzi. Their romantic relationship ended amid the sponsorship dealings.

Speaking to a local TV station after his release, Lwasa shared details of the matter. He said he had signed an advertising contract with Buganda Kingdom TV stations to promote his event company on a show hosted by ex-girlfriend Nabatanzi.

Lwasa paid 9 million shillings of the 25 million total but claims Nabatanzi then stopped airing his ads without explanation after three months. He questioned why the network expected full payment when the agreed services were not fully rendered.

Rejecting claims his bail was collected from donors, Lwasa said he personally settled the full debt amount with his own funds. He expressed disappointment in Buganda Kingdom and the involved stations, having worked with them previously without issue.
