One Individual Suffocate To Death At Lydia Jazmine’s Concert- Police

A tragic incident unfolded at Lydia Jazmine’s recent Concert held at Hotel Africana in Kampala on March 1st, 2024, resulting in the unfortunate death of one individual by the name of Anie Bonus from Luzira in Nakawa Division.

The incident was confirmed by the Uganda Police during a press briefing held on Monday.

According to the Police statement, the fatal incident unfolded during a stampede triggered when authorities intervened to prevent Musician Grenade Official and his crew from accessing the VIP section.

In the chaos that followed, Anie Bonus fell and was unintentionally trampled by other attendees at the concert, despite immediate efforts to transport him to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention,it was already late and he succumbed to the injuries.

Police have now confirmed the custody of Kimera Yusuf in connection with Aine’s death, and investigations are currently going on to look into the matter.

This incident reflects a similar tragedy that occurred earlier this year during New Year celebrations at Freedom City, Where over ten individuals lost their lives in a stampede while rushing to witness fireworks.
