Justin Mugabiirwe, the principal of Lower Bugongi Primary School, unexpectedly passed away during a mass service at Christ the King Church in Kabale district.
Mugabiirwe, a resident of Murungu village in Kabale district, was attending the holy mass on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses, including a fellow Christian named Richard who was sitting next to her, reported that Mugabiirwe abruptly fell unconscious during the ceremony.
As the mass proceeded, Mugabiirwe expressed a desire to be escorted to the shrine of Mother Mary located outside the church for prayers.
Regrettably, she did not make it there. A colleague from the school disclosed that Mugabiirwe had been struggling with either diabetes or hypertension, which could have led to her sudden collapse and untimely demise.
