Ugandan Woman Who Worked As a Waitress, Now Team Leader At International Airport Builds Mum Stunning House

Bronia Birungi, a resilient young woman from Uganda, has defied all odds to pursue her dreams while simultaneously ensuring a better life for her family.

Bronia’s quest began in 2014 when she completed her Travel and Tourism course at the YMCA.

Fueled by the desire to construct a suitable home for her mother, she left her homeland and embarked on a life-changing adventure.

Landing in Dubai, she started her career as a waitress at a local coffee shop, fully aware that this was just the beginning of her path to success.

Per a Facebook post by travel enthusiast Elijah Bogere, Bronia’s unwavering commitment to building a decent home for her mother was the driving force behind her aspirations.

“When Bronia left Uganda in 2014 after completing her Travel and Tourism course. She had one dream to fulfil, and nothing would stop her, that was to construct a suitable home for her mother,” he wrote.

She began her journey as a humble waitress at a coffee shop in Dubai in 2014 but refused to let that be her final destination.

After her contract expired, she relocated to Doha, Qatar, where she took on the role of a lady guard. Little did she know this would be just the beginning of an extraordinary adventure.

Bronia’s exceptional skills get her superior’s attention During her training as a lady guard, Bronia’s exceptional customer experience skills caught the attention of her superiors.

As a result, she was selected to work as an X-ray screener at Hamad International Airport during the build-up to the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

During her time at the airport, another dream began taking shape within her – becoming a flight attendant. Despite numerous applications to major Middle Eastern carriers, Bronia encountered countless rejections.

Undeterred, she decided to expand her search to low-cost airlines, and it was with Air Arabia that she finally secured her first flight attendant interview.

Handling premium customers at the airport

Although she failed in that particular opportunity, fate had something else in store for her.

A week after her cabin crew interview, Bronia received an unexpected offer to handle premium customers in the Lounge at Sharjah International Airport.

Embracing the opportunity with delight, she accepted the alternative position, recognizing it as a stepping stone toward her ultimate goal.

“Bronia is a Team leader who has settled in, and enjoying her job,” said Bogere.

“She has honed her customer experience skills since the Lounge and especially premium customer handling presents various unique scenarios daily that avail opportunities to learn and expand one’s knowledge,” he added.

Although her dream of becoming a flight attendant is still alive, she remains content, having achieved a significant milestone – constructing a befitting home for her mother.

“Her dream of becoming a flight attendant hasn’t been buried yet though she’s content and, above all, managed to construct her mother a befitting home,” said Bogere.

Bronia’s incredible journey inspires all those who have dreams, reminding them that they can overcome any obstacle in their path with dedication and a relentless pursuit of opportunities.
