The Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.) has completed the construction of the Pallisa-Kaliro Road and bridge, 11 months ahead of the planned completion date of January 2025. This achievement marks a remarkable milestone for the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) In-House Construction Supervision Team and is expected to have a profound impact on the country’s economic growth.
The Pallisa-Kaliro Road, a critical transportation artery in Eastern Uganda, spans over 100 kilometers and connects the districts of Pallisa and Kaliro. The new road and bridge are designed to improve access to markets, healthcare, and education, while also reducing the number of accidents on this vital route.
“The completion of this project is a significant achievement for the country, as it will boost agricultural trade and investment in the region. The new road and bridge will facilitate the transportation of goods and services, stimulating economic growth and development in the area,” said a top UNRA official.
The UNRA In-House Construction Supervision Team played a crucial role in ensuring the project’s success, working closely with The Arab Contractors to oversee the construction process and ensure that the project was completed to the highest standards.
“The early completion of this project is a testament to the team’s dedication and expertise, and demonstrates the government’s commitment to investing in infrastructure development. The new Pallisa-Kaliro Road and bridge are expected to have a lasting impact on the region, improving the lives of thousands of people and contributing to the country’s economic prosperity,” the official added.
