Pastor Suspends Offering of Tithes Over High Cost of Living

A certain pastor has become a buzz on social media after a video from his sermon went viral, announcing the suspension of offering activities in his church.

According to the pastor, whose name hasn’t been disclosed, amidst his sermon, he declared that offering activities had been suspended in his church for the time being, stating that he fully understands how many believers are going through tough economic times to earn money.

The pastor urged his fellow pastors from various churches to follow suit and relieve the believers of the burden of giving offerings, considering the country’s tough economic situation and how many are struggling even to afford food at home.

He claimed that transportation costs are already too high for the concerned believers to easily afford, yet they still have to contribute financially to the church.

In his words: “We should not collect offerings today. For now, because of the state of this country, we are holding off on giving. All pastors should realize, while waiting for the situation in this country to improve, they should not collect offerings.”

“Imagine someone coming to church, taking a taxi with 1,500 and still leaves an offering, they might end up going back home. Is that sensible? If you don’t leave money, it doesn’t mean the pastor won’t eat. Come serve your God and leave; wait until the fuel price drops; it’s not easy.”

He concluded by urging other churches to do the same, “For all pastors, stop collecting offerings for now.”
