Man Arrested For Killing Two Siblings In Suspected Ritual

In Kiboga District, law enforcement officials have arrested a man, Sulaiman Sentongo, who is under suspicion for the murder of two siblings in what is believed to be a ritual killing. Sentongo, a known witch doctor, resides in Kasenene village within the district.

Racheal Kawala, the spokesperson for the Wamala Region Police, reported that a case of missing children was filed on Wednesday by Rebecca Nakate, the mother of the victims, from Magi Village, Kapeke Subcounty. Nakate had taken her children to the garden in the morning, sent them home for lunch around noon, and upon her return, found them missing, leading her to report to the police.

The missing children were identified as two-year-old Esther Nakasumba and five-year-old Sylvia Nantongo.

Kawala stated,

“It was today, Thursday April 4, at around 7:30am when the headless body part of a girl was discovered at Kyato along Kiboga highway.” The body was later confirmed to be that of Esther Nakasumba.

Detectives discovered a note under the body, which guided them to the location of the other body parts. Following the directions, the District Police Commander (DPC) and the Scene of Crime Officers found two heads at Kasenene village, hidden among some burnt bricks.

A canine unit was deployed, leading the police to Sentongo. The witch doctor was subsequently arrested and is currently detained at Kiboga Police Station. Kawala mentioned that several pieces of evidence were retrieved from Sentongo’s shrine, which will aid in the ongoing investigation.

Kawala issued a warning to parents in her jurisdiction to be extra vigilant in safeguarding their children against potential kidnappers.
