Police in Bukedea is on the lookout for two siblings, Onenge Andrew and Opio Ivan, who are accused of assaulting their mother and her male companion.
The brothers, who reside in Akaramai village, Kamom parish, in the Bukedea district, are the main suspects in the case.
The police report suggests that the incident occurred when the mother, Asikeit Melidah, had her male friend, Omerikol Joseph, over at their home on March 20. The father of the siblings, Ogwang Isaac, is a teacher and is usually away at his place of work.
The police stated, “The brothers came home around 10 pm and were enraged to find their mother and her friend asleep in their father’s house.”
It is alleged that they picked up pangas and launched an attack, causing severe injuries to their mother and her friend. Both victims were immediately taken to Bukedea Health Centre IV for medical attention.
The police expressed strong condemnation of such violent acts against parents by their own children, labeling it a grave abomination. They emphasized that mothers should always be respected by their children, regardless of the situation.
The brothers are currently being sought for two charges of attempted murder.
