7 Arrested for Beating Fellow Muslim for Praying In Church

Police have arrested seven individuals on allegations of torturing a fellow Muslim for fellowshipping in a Pastor’s Church in Kadama Town Council in Kibuku district.

According to the Police Spokesperson, Bukedi North Region, SP Semewo Samuel, the arrests that were effected on Monday, 22nd April, 2024 followed a video of a one Naula Shakira being tortured, going viral on Social Media.

Shakira was being tortured by her family members following her decision to pray at Pastor Kitibwa Nicholas’ Prayer Convention Church.

The arrested persons are Higenyi Jaberi, aged 50 yrs and Munyoli by tribe, Nantege Yusufu aged 28 years, Wapesa Muhammad, 24, Lumans Jaberi, 25 years, Koosu Uthuman, 25, all Maternal uncles to the victim and residents of Bwase, Nabunyere Parish, Kadama Sub County in Kibuku district.

Others are; Wasereye Issa, 24 yrs and Maternal Uncle and Musenero Ziyadi, 29 yrs old and an Aunt of the victim.

“At around 2030/c, Kibuku security team led by RDC Kibuku accompanied by DPC Kibuku rushed to the scene at Bwase 1 village, Bugolya Parish, Kadama Sub County, Kibuku district with the target to identify and arrest the culprits who got involved,” reads Semewo’s statement in part.

All Suspects are detained at Kibuku police station as investigation into the matter is ongoing vide SD Ref; 13/22/04/2024.

It has also been established that the victim stays with her Aunt one Musenero Ziyadi who is also a Suspect because her biological Mother is away in Saudi Arabia for work, meanwhile the whereabouts of her father are not known.
