Two Top Kampala City Notorious Armed Robbers Arrested In An Intelligence Operation

Nansana Police have arrested two suspects who have been terrorising the residents.

Today 15/05/24 at Nabweru Kazo Muganzilwaza, Nansana Division, Police received information two (02) thugs armed with pangas attempted to attack people while on their way back to their home after spending the night at a funeral in Kazo Muganzilwaza.

It is alleged that some residents of Kazo Muganzilwaza who were coming from a funeral came across two men at about 0400 hours armed with pangas while on their way back to their homes in Kazo and they attempted to robe them. On noticing that they couldn’t manage to over power them, the thugs ran away and they were followed by the would be the victims up to their rented room in Kazo where they entered immediately to hide.

The would be victims called the neighbours and area LC 1 Kazo Muganzilwaza and they sorrounded the house and informed Police. Police responded immediately to the scene.

 

Two suspects by the names of Ssebyuma Abdu aged 34 years, a resident of Kazo Muganzilwaza and a born of Lwanume Kyamulira Masaka and Nyakana Ronald aged 34 years and a born of Masaka were arrested from their rented single room at Kazo on the premises of their landlord. Two pangas, a sow, army like green cap, and opium were recovered from their single room in the presence of the LC1 chairperson.

The duo have been charged for being in possession of dangerous weapons and opium. The suspects are linked to the machete gang are terrorising people in Nabweru and other areas. The pangas are going to be examined by the experts to ascertain if they have ever been used in any violent incidents.

SSP Patrick Onyango Spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan police confirmed the arrest adding that more investigations are still ongoing.
