4 Arrested For Stealing From A Police Officer’s Home

The Territorial Police at Katwe are investigating an aggravated robbery that took place on May 28, 2024, at the residence of Baguma Frederick, a police officer residing in Kirinda Busabala Parish, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso District.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 am when assailants broke into Officer Baguma’s home and stole a flat-screen television valued at Shs 1.2 million and a small bag containing an unspecified amount of money. The attackers inflicted injuries on Baguma before fleeing the scene. Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire says that the officer promptly reported the incident to the police.

In response, the police canine unit was deployed to the scene. The unit successfully tracked the scent to a nearby construction site, leading to the arrest of four suspects: Mukiibi Umar, Mawanda Jimmy, Ecau Abraham, and Canodia Joseph.

“Although we have not yet recovered the stolen items, the suspects are currently detained at Katwe Police Station as the investigation continues,” said Owoyesigyire.

“We are actively investigating this case and will keep the public informed of any developments,” Owoyesigyire stated.
