Woman Who Returned with Nothing after 30 Years in UK Recounts Financial Mistakes She Made

A Ugandan woman called Auntie Jaque went to live in the UK after high school so that she could make a better life for herself.

During her stay in the European country, she only got contract jobs and could only manage to save some money for herself.

Sadly, she became a victim of two financial scams back home while still living in the UK and by the time she returned home, she had nothing to her name.

A young woman identified as Auntie Jacque has shared how some financial mistakes made her return home without any money.

Auntie Jacque only managed contract jobs

In a YouTube video shared on Lynne Zaabu World, Aunt Jacque said that while working in the UK, she only managed to get contract jobs and could not save much.

“My employer terminated me abruptly. I was on contract; I have always been working contract jobs, and they don’t have a lot of benefits,” she said.

When her job ended, she could not get another one, and the same applied to housing. Stranded with her son, she remembered that her house was in progress back home in Uganda and opted to return home.

Financial mistakes in the UK

While still living in the UK, Auntie Jacque had saved some money, but she shared that an attempt to invest back home made her the victim of scammers.

“Somebody scammed me…I was scammed from right here in Uganda as I waited for money in the UK,” she said and maintained that she would not offer more details.

“After that scamming, I thought let me put the remaining amount in another venture and was scammed again; my entore life savings went just like that,” she shared.

The mother of two shared that when one gets to the UK and they have their visa and work permit, they will get money weekly or fortnightly.

“Those who support their support families in Africa struggle very much. They should try their best to think of themselves,” she said.

“Here I am; I came in the same state I left to go back to the UK,” she concluded.
