Three Killed in Late-Night Crash on Kampala-Masaka Highway

A tragic accident on the Kampala-Masaka Highway claimed the lives of three individuals and left one critically wounded on Wednesday night, as confirmed by the police.

The incident, which took place around 11:40 pm in Kamengo, was reported by the territorial traffic police in Mpigi. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Fuso truck with the registration number UAL 605 U and a Subaru Forester with the registration number UBH 247L. The accident occurred at the Kasuule Ayanguwa swamp.

The Mitsubishi Fuso was en route to Masaka when it had a head-on collision with the Subaru Forester. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed by the police, but it was reported that the driver of the Subaru was among the fatalities. A passenger in the same vehicle, who was critically injured, was immediately transported to the Double Cure clinic in Mpigi.

Postmortem examinations will be conducted on the deceased at the Gombe hospital mortuary. Meanwhile, both vehicles involved in the accident have been towed to the Kamengo Police Station.
