Notorious rustler killed, cows and gun recovered in Agago

A notorious cattle rustler was on Friday put out of action by the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces in Barafayo village, Lakwa Parish, Adilanga sub-county, in Agago district.

Captain Favourite Rugumayo, Public Information Officer, Fifth Infantry Division in a statement noted that “while on routine patrol, the 81 Battalion troops of the 507 Brigade under the 5 Infantry Division trailed the rustler and recovered three cows and one sub-machine gun with 17 rounds of bullets”.

Rugumayo said the cows were raided from Lacekonya village, Kulaka Parish, Adilanga sub-county, and handed over to their rightful owners, Lamson Opio and Alfred Oyugi, respectively.

“Residents are called upon to take extra caution and take their animals to protected kraals and avoid being vulnerable to raiding from individual homes,” Rugumayo noted.
