Fraudster on Bond Re-arrested For Obtaining Second Passport Fraudulently

A suspected fraudster who has been out of prison on bail has been re-arrested and arraigned before KCCA Chief Magistrates Court on charges of giving False Information and making False Declaration to Obtain a passport.

Rusoke Elijah Martin who was charged today, 3rd May, 2024 fraudulently acquired a second passport in an attempt to escape prosecution since he had earlier deposited his passport as a condition for his release on bond in a case under investigation by State House Anti-Corruption Unit.

Rusoke is suspected to be part of a group that defrauded Kenyan Nationals USD 361,151 approximately over Shs1.37B in a sham contract for the supply of generators to various hospitals in Uganda.

He is also being investigated for his alleged involvement in the defrauding of USD 3.8M approximately Shs14B from a Turkish Company, Guner Kuzu construction, in a purported procurement for construction of hospitals in Uganda, a fraud that was committed using law firms; M/s Balon Advovates and Kato & Co advocates.

He has been remanded till 23/05/2024.

In December 2023, Rusoke Elijah Martin charged with Obtaining Money by False Pretence and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony and remanded until 12/09/2023 before he later applied for bail.

Rusoke is part of a group that allegedly defrauded Kenyan Nationals USD 361,151 approximately over UGX1.37B.

The Kenyan investors own a company dealing in the supply of electrical appliances for big projects.

In 2022, Rusoke and others still at large allegedly presented themselves as members of the NRM Special contracts committee on Presidential tasks, a nonexistent committee claiming that the Kenyans had won a contract to supply generators in various hospitals that were allegedly under construction in the country.
