In a dramatic rescue operation, the police and concerned well-wishers managed to secure the student with a stretcher and carefully lower her to safety using ropes. She was then rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Makanga for further medical attention.

Witnesses among the students, who preferred to remain anonymous, speculated that the student’s actions were a desperate plea for attention from the school administration regarding issues of poor feeding and overall welfare at the institution. Others suggested that the student might have been suffering from a mental health crisis.

Efforts to obtain a comment from the school management were unsuccessful, as journalists and police were harshly chased away from the school premises by the administrators. By the time of reporting, the police had not released an official statement regarding the incident.
